Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Offers New Grief Support Group ‘Enduring Through Loss’.
As part of its service to our wider community, PEMI-BAKER HOSPICE & HOME HEALTH will be offering a grief and loss support group, beginning on Tuesday, January 14, and continuing through February 18, 2025. This six-week series “Enduring Through Loss” will explore the experiences of grieving and mourning. Individuals who have been bereaved can often feel isolated and alone, unequipped to deal with the emotional upset and turbulence following a loss. Sometimes they feel they are coming unhinged and losing control of their thoughts and behaviors.
This series will seek to validate and normalize some of the various reactions and responses characteristic of grief, while coming to terms with a loss. Suggestions toward coping skills and ways to quell and soften the intensity of the personal and individual features of one’s experience will be part of the support offered.
The experience of loss is not restricted to the death of a loved one, but may include the loss of employment, the severing of a relationship, financial setbacks, or the effects of a natural disaster, or relocation to an unfamiliar area or setting.
The group will meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am in the upstairs Art Room at the Plymouth Regional Senior Center. Each session will conclude by 12:00 noon. Unfortunately, the elevator at the Senior Center is currently out of order, so participants need to be able to use the stairs to access the Art Room.
There is no cost to participate in the group. To know how many to prepare for, participants need to pre-register by contacting Guy Tillson, Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator at Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. He can be reached by email at gtillson@pbhha.org or by phone at 603 536-2232.
