Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health is pleased to announce the launch of quarterly Fall Prevention Workshops, designed to help older adults stay safe, strong, and confident in their daily lives.
The first workshop will take place at Horse Meadow Senior Center on Monday, January 12, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. and will feature Ernie Roy, DPT, Physical Therapist with Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. The session is free and open to all seniors in the community.
Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults, but many falls are preventable. This interactive workshop will cover practical, easy-to-apply strategies to reduce fall risk, including:
- Movement, balance, and strength for everyday activities
- Home safety and environmental hazards
- Medication considerations and fall risk
- Vision and hearing health
- Winter slip and ice prevention
- Foot health and proper footwear
Participants will gain helpful tips they can use right away and have the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive, welcoming setting.
“Education, movement, and awareness play a critical role in fall prevention,” said Ernie Roy, DPT. “These workshops are about empowering seniors with simple tools that can make a big difference in safety and independence.”
The Horse Meadow Senior Center is located at 91 Horse Meadow Road, North Haverhill, NH 03774.
