Circle of Friends

Thanksgiving Gratitude & Invitation to Join Circle of Friends

November 25, 2025

Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Shares Thanksgiving Gratitude and Invites the Community to Join Its Circle of Friends.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health extends heartfelt thanks to the people who make our mission possible. This season reminds us to pause, look around, and appreciate the strength of a community that continues to show up for one another. Your support, kindness and trust allow us to bring healing, hope and care to friends, neighbors and families throughout the region. For that, we are truly grateful.Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health feeling Thankful

We also want to shine a light on the people who carry out this work every day. Our nurses, therapists, social workers, aides, administrative staff and volunteers give their energy, skill and compassion to every visit and every call. They stay late. They listen closely. They guide families through some of the hardest moments they will ever face. Their dedication is steady and sincere, and we thank each member of our team for standing strong for our community.

This Thanksgiving, as many gather around full tables, we recognize that our work continues in living rooms, care facilities and homes where illness, recovery or loss reshapes family routines. Because of your support, our team can bring comfort, safety and clarity to these moments. From helping someone return home after surgery to supporting a family through hospice care, your generosity fuels the services that matter most.

As the holiday season begins, we also want to remind our community that Giving Tuesday is December 2nd. This global day of generosity gives each of us a chance to invest in the wellbeing of our neighbors. If you have ever wondered how to make a meaningful difference with a small budget, we invite you to join Pemi’s Circle of Friends.

The Circle of Friends is a growing group of monthly donors who believe that no one should be denied care based on their ability to pay. Even the smallest monthly gift becomes steady, reliable support that allows us to mobilize care when families need it most.Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Circle of Friends monthly giving club

Here is what a monthly commitment can do:

  • Five dollars helps our chaplain, Guy Tillson, connect with ten families who need support after a loss or during the strain of caregiving.
  • Ten dollars helps coordinate equipment and services for someone returning home after surgery.
  • Twenty dollars covers foot and blood pressure screenings for seniors, giving them a simple but important check on their health.
  • Thirty dollars helps our team provide palliative care for people living with chronic illness. This work brings comfort and guidance to families facing difficult diagnoses.
  • Fifty dollars helps us support families caring for a loved one on hospice when services extend beyond what Medicare or insurance will cover. Our social workers play a crucial role during these moments, and your gift helps keep their support available.

A monthly gift of any amount creates impact all year long. It keeps families steady during times of fear or uncertainty. It helps our team respond quickly and thoroughly. It ensures that no one feels alone at a time when connection matters most.

This Thanksgiving, we thank you for believing in our mission. We invite you to carry that spirit forward by joining our Circle of Friends and supporting care that reaches every corner of our community.

Give Back on Giving Tuesday, Join our ‘Circle of Friends’

November 17, 2023

Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Encourages Community to

Give Back on Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday, give to Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health, Plymouth, NH

As the holiday season approaches, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health invites the community to embrace the spirit of giving by becoming sustaining donors on Giving Tuesday, celebrated nationally on November 28th. This year, Pemi-Baker encourages individuals to join their ‘Circle of Friends,’ a monthly giving club that supports under-insured neighbors and ensures the continuation of vital community services.Circle of Friends, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health, Plymouth, NH

The ‘Circle of Friends’ initiative empowers individuals to make a lasting impact with a commitment of just $15 a month. By joining this monthly giving club, community members contribute to the sustainability of Pemi-Baker’s free community services, including Bereavement & Caregiver support groups, Ask a Pemi-Baker Nurse Senior Center days, and free Hospice volunteer training programs.

“Pemi-Baker is deeply rooted in its mission to provide compassionate care and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments,” said Dr. Diane Arsenault, MD, Interim Executive Director at Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. “This Giving Tuesday, we invite our community to join hands with us and become a part of our ‘Circle of Friends,’ making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.”

The $15 monthly donation goes a long way in sustaining the high-quality care and services that Pemi-Baker provides to the community. It ensures that those facing difficult times have access to the support and resources they need.

To join the ‘Circle of Friends,’ interested donors can conveniently sign up online HERE. The simple, secure process allows individuals to become sustaining donors with just a few clicks, enabling Pemi-Baker to continue its commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community.

As the season of giving unfolds, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health encourages everyone to consider the impact they can make by becoming sustaining donors and fostering a sense of community support. Together, we can make a difference and bring comfort to those who need it most.

No-Show Auction a Success!

June 4, 2020

Pemi-Baker Community Health Raises Critical Funds for Home care and Hospice Patients-

The COVID-19 pandemic put a damper on Pemi-Baker Community Health’s plans for their Annual Auction and Brunch fundraiser but thanks to the generosity of community sponsors, donors and bidders, their ‘No-Show Auction’, an on line only event, was a success!

With over 85 items to bid on, raffles to invest in and specialty services to donate towards, they hit their fundraising goal and raised the critical funds needed to continue their important work in supporting the members of this community who need medical aid at home. Now, more than ever, PBCH patients need nursing and social work support for their sudden illnesses and hospice needs. Many of their patients are experiencing increased feelings of depression and isolation, as well as heightened anxiety, particularly because many are at high-risk for COVID-19.

As a non-profit for over 52 years, Pemi-Baker Community Health has served family, friends and neighbors in 18+ towns and they couldn’t have done it without the generosity of individuals and businesses alike. Pemi-Baker would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring the auction: Dumont Construction Inc., Mid-State Health Center, Northway Bank, Speare Memorial Hospital, NEEBCO, MatrixCare, Noyes Insurance, Service Credit Union, Insurance 24, Steve and Carole Osmer, Brian Weeks Electric, Highline Acoustics, Deb Hills Cleaning Services, Peabody & Smith Realty and Meredith Village Savings Bank.

Would you like to support Pemi-Baker Community Health? Visit their website, www.pbhha.org, to make a donation or join their ‘Circle of Friends’. This special group of good as gold supporters, make small, monthly donations to provide ongoing funding so PBCH can mobilize care, irregardless of the patient’s ability to pay. Just $10 a month will help ensure that every family can find the compassion, education and assistance necessary to help their loved one. You can make a difference to a friend or family member today with less than the amount you spend on lunch.

The Rewards of Being a Hospice Volunteer

While I was familiar with Hospice for many years, I only have been a hospice volunteer with Pemi Baker Hospice and Home Health (PBHHH) since October 2021.  When I retired, I began searching for volunteer work that would allow me to give back to my community.  A newsletter from PBHHH arrived in my email announcing training for hospice volunteers.  My family had experienced the need for hospice twice, once in Ohio and again in Florida.  The relief my family and I felt when the hospice volunteers arrived was beyond measure.  I want to bring the same kind of assistance to others.  PBHHH given me that opportunity by providing professional training with knowledgeable nurses, doctors, social workers and other health care professionals.  Their guidance has enabled me to meet the challenges of being s hospice volunteer, and I am very glad that I did it.

You give of yourselves day & night without end!

To the Pemi-Baker Hospice Team--Words really can't express my feelings-

Your help during one of the most difficult times of my life is SO appreciated.  I'm so grateful that because of you, Doug was able to get his wish not to spend the last of his days in a hospital, but at home with those of us who loved him.

And to be constantly reassured that if I needed anything you would be there-oh my gosh-ANYTIME!  Well, you people need to know how much you are appreciated.  You give of yourselves day & night without end!  God Bless you and thank you!

“My home physical therapy was fantastic.”

Pemi-Baker provided very good home therapy. All their therapists were pleasant, helpful in offering suggestions for better functioning after surgery, and practiced good health protocols. They were also very prompt in showing up for scheduled appointments.

“Pemi-Baker Hospice services provided kind, professional, competent services every step of the way-and even vaccinated us all for Covid/19!””

Our primary nurse, Fred, was outstanding, and others who filled in (Cathy, Penny, Colleen) were wonderful and a credit to your organization. Fred, you were amazing, not only for mom but for my husband and I as well. I will forever be grateful for your support, wisdom, humor and kindness, all along the end of life journey for mom. I am so deeply thankful that circumstances conspired such that mom was able to die at home, and your role made that time as seamless as it could be made.
