Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Shares Thanksgiving Gratitude and Invites the Community to Join Its Circle of Friends.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health extends heartfelt thanks to the people who make our mission possible. This season reminds us to pause, look around, and appreciate the strength of a community that continues to show up for one another. Your support, kindness and trust allow us to bring healing, hope and care to friends, neighbors and families throughout the region. For that, we are truly grateful.
We also want to shine a light on the people who carry out this work every day. Our nurses, therapists, social workers, aides, administrative staff and volunteers give their energy, skill and compassion to every visit and every call. They stay late. They listen closely. They guide families through some of the hardest moments they will ever face. Their dedication is steady and sincere, and we thank each member of our team for standing strong for our community.
This Thanksgiving, as many gather around full tables, we recognize that our work continues in living rooms, care facilities and homes where illness, recovery or loss reshapes family routines. Because of your support, our team can bring comfort, safety and clarity to these moments. From helping someone return home after surgery to supporting a family through hospice care, your generosity fuels the services that matter most.
As the holiday season begins, we also want to remind our community that Giving Tuesday is December 2nd. This global day of generosity gives each of us a chance to invest in the wellbeing of our neighbors. If you have ever wondered how to make a meaningful difference with a small budget, we invite you to join Pemi’s Circle of Friends.
The Circle of Friends is a growing group of monthly donors who believe that no one should be denied care based on their ability to pay. Even the smallest monthly gift becomes steady, reliable support that allows us to mobilize care when families need it most.
Here is what a monthly commitment can do:
- Five dollars helps our chaplain, Guy Tillson, connect with ten families who need support after a loss or during the strain of caregiving.
- Ten dollars helps coordinate equipment and services for someone returning home after surgery.
- Twenty dollars covers foot and blood pressure screenings for seniors, giving them a simple but important check on their health.
- Thirty dollars helps our team provide palliative care for people living with chronic illness. This work brings comfort and guidance to families facing difficult diagnoses.
- Fifty dollars helps us support families caring for a loved one on hospice when services extend beyond what Medicare or insurance will cover. Our social workers play a crucial role during these moments, and your gift helps keep their support available.
A monthly gift of any amount creates impact all year long. It keeps families steady during times of fear or uncertainty. It helps our team respond quickly and thoroughly. It ensures that no one feels alone at a time when connection matters most.
This Thanksgiving, we thank you for believing in our mission. We invite you to carry that spirit forward by joining our Circle of Friends and supporting care that reaches every corner of our community.
