Free Grief & Loss Support Group Offered by Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health “I Don’t Want To Let Go.”
As part of its service to our various communities, Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health’s next Grief & Loss Support Group will look at the commonly given (and commonly misunderstood) advice offered to persons in grief “to let go”. To the freshly-bereaved person, this may be heard as a directive to forget a loved one they have recently lost through death. It can, therefore, be misunderstood as a betrayal to the loved one and a blotting out of a treasured and valuable relationship.
This six-session series, “I Don’t Want To Let Go”, will look especially at honoring the ongoing emotional attachments we have to those we have lost while considering the challenges to possibly beginning to grow beyond the sadness, confusion, and loneliness that factor into mourning. As always, we stress the notions that there is no right or wrong way to grieve and that each person moves through their loss in their own deeply personal and individual way. We make the effort to assure that the group is a safe emotional space for participants to be able to share tender and hurtful feelings in an understanding and supportive setting.
This group series will begin on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:30am. We will continue to meet for five more Tuesdays after that. We meet at the Plymouth Area Regional Senior Center in its upstairs Art Room, which is accessible by elevator. Participants are asked to be present for the first session and should arrive on time. If you need a parking slip for your car, please stop at the receptionist’s desk by 10:15am so you have time to get your parking slip and park your car so that you can arrive on time for the group meeting. The group session ends no later than 12:00 noon.
There is no cost to participate in the group, though you will need to pre-register by contacting Guy Tillson, Bereavement Coordinator, by phone at (603) 536-2232 or by email at gtillson@pbhha.org so we know how many to prepare for.
