Join Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health’s Next Volunteer Training Program – Beginning September 10th.
Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health is inviting community members to take part in its next free volunteer training program, beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Sessions will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pemi-Baker offices, 101 Boulder Drive in Plymouth. The five-week training will wrap up on October 15, 2025, with a pause on October 1.
This program is more than a class—it’s an opportunity to touch lives in powerful and meaningful ways. Volunteers at Pemi-Baker are companions, listeners, and supporters for patients and families navigating some of life’s most difficult moments. From offering a warm presence at the bedside, to helping with errands, to lending a hand with office projects or community events, every volunteer makes a difference.
“Volunteers are the heart of our organization,” says Angie Burke, Volunteer Coordinator. “Their kindness and generosity bring comfort not only to our patients but also to the families who love them. Joining this training means joining a family of caregivers who believe in showing up with compassion.”
Pemi-Baker is especially welcoming male volunteers and those with military service. These volunteers often bring shared experiences that create special connections—particularly with Veteran patients.
No medical background is required—just a caring spirit and a willingness to give a little time. By the end of the program, participants will feel confident and prepared to provide both emotional and practical support, ensuring that patients and families never feel alone.
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
