Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health proudly recognizes National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 20th through April 24th, honoring the dedicated individuals who generously give their time and compassion to support patients and families throughout the community.
Volunteers are an essential part of Pemi-Baker’s mission, providing comfort, companionship, and practical support to those receiving hospice and home health services. Whether sitting bedside to offer a calming presence, reading aloud, assisting with errands, or providing respite so caregivers can rest, volunteers make a meaningful difference every day. Their kindness helps ease difficult moments and ensures that no patient or family feels alone.
“Volunteers bring warmth and humanity to our care,” said Angie Burke, Volunteer Coordinator. “They listen, share stories, hold hands, and create moments of connection that matter deeply to our patients and their loved ones.”
Pemi-Baker is also excited to welcome three new volunteers—George, Darlene, and Tammy—who recently completed the organization’s Spring Volunteer Training program. Their commitment reflects the spirit of service that defines Pemi-Baker’s volunteer team.
The organization offers free volunteer training sessions three times each year, preparing individuals to provide compassionate, supportive care in a variety of roles. Community members interested in making a difference are encouraged to learn more.
For information about upcoming volunteer training sessions, please contact Angie Burke, Volunteer Coordinator at 603-536-2232.
