Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health is inviting community members to learn, ask questions and discover practical ways to better manage Type 2 diabetes at a FREE Diabetes Workshop on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5:00–6:00pm at Pease Public Library, 1 Russell Street, Plymouth, NH.
The workshop will be co-hosted by Carli Walsh, RN, Director of Home Health & Hospice at Pemi-Baker, and retired physician Dr. Kevin Young, MD. The one-hour session will focus primarily on the important role that diet and exercise can play in managing Type 2 diabetes.
This workshop is especially helpful for those who have been newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, as well as family members and caregivers who want to better understand how they can provide support.
Participants will receive practical information and handouts to take home, followed by a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions and discuss their own concerns in a welcoming, supportive environment.
A diabetes diagnosis can sometimes feel like being handed a whole new rulebook for life. But managing diabetes doesn’t mean giving up everything you enjoy — and it certainly doesn’t mean you have to figure it all out at once. Small, realistic changes in what you eat, how much you move and how you approach your health can add up to meaningful results.
“Our goal is for people to leave feeling empowered rather than overwhelmed,” said Walsh. “There are many things individuals can do every day to support their health, and we want to provide information that is practical, understandable and encouraging.”
The workshop is FREE and open to the public, but registration is required by October 2nd. To reserve your spot, please call 603-536-2232.
