Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health is pleased to announce a series of three free educational workshops taking place throughout the month of May. These sessions are designed to support community members in staying healthy, informed, and empowered as they age.
On Monday, May 11th, Ernie Roy, DPT, will lead a fall prevention workshop titled “Stay Steady This Spring” at the Horse Meadow Senior Center, 91 Horse Meadow Road in North Haverhill, NH, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. This interactive session will provide practical tips to help reduce fall risk, including guidance on balance, movement and strength, home safety and fall hazards, as well as the impact of medications, vision and hearing, foot health, and proper footwear.
The second workshop, “Wellness, Health & Happiness As We Age,” will be presented by Dr. Kristi Saunders, Hospice Medical Director, on Wednesday, May 13th from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Public Library, 22 Church Street in Lincoln, NH. This discussion will explore what it means to achieve true health while aging and will highlight the importance of completing advance care planning documents to ensure your healthcare wishes are clearly communicated.
The final workshop, “Diabetes Education,” will take place on Wednesday, May 27th from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health, 101 Boulder Point Drive, Suite 3 in Plymouth, NH. Presented by Gretchen Smith, RN, alongside retired physician Kevin Young, MD, this session is ideal for individuals living with type 2 diabetes—especially those newly diagnosed—as well as family members and caregivers. The workshop will focus on managing diabetes through diet and exercise.
All workshops are free and open to the public. Handouts will be provided at each session. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by calling 603-536-2232.
